You know those new 12-year-aged Connecticuts by Perdomo that we’ve all fallen in love with? Well… (Insert Thus Spake Zarathustra here…or some suitably majestic theme if you’re unfamiliar with Strauss.) The next wave has arrived, in the form of an absolutely astonishing sun-grown version!This time, the magnificent blend of Nicaraguan fillers (from the Condega, Esteli, & Jalapa regions) and the mysterious undisclosed binder are neatly sealed in a beautiful, slightly oily sun-grown wrapper which complements the other flavors to a tee. Flavors of almond, oak, and spice dominate, with subtle hints of brandy, coffee, and molasses entering in at the halfway point. An incredible smoke that proves a worthy successor to the outstanding Connecticut line.

All four vitolas are currently available: Robusto (5″ x 56), Epicure (6″ x 56), Churchill (7″ x 56), and Gordo Extra (6 1/2 x 60).

Drew Estate‘s master blender, the legendary Willy Herrera has concocted a real stunner: The new Norteño (a reference to Norteños, or “northerners,” which is how Nicaraguans typically refer to folks from Esteli) is a long-awaited maduro masterpiece featuring a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The result is a powerful, toothy cigar with an earthy bass note, prominent flavors of dark chocolate and cedar, and an elusive, berry-like sweetness.FUN FACT: The bird depicted on the box is the Guardabarranco, the national bird of Nicaragua.

They’ve been released in 10-count boxes of 6 (yes, SIX) sizes: Coronita (4″ x 46),  Corona Extra (4 3/4″ x 48), Belicoso Fino (5″ x 50), Robusto Grande (5 1/2″x 54), Toro (6″ x 50) and Lonsdale Deluxe (6 1/2″ x 44). We are already out of the Toro, and the others are going fast (and we’ve received only ONE box of each), so get your backside down here post-haste and grab a Norteño while you can!
