As many of you already know, Bernard “Bernie” Dan Pavlick passed away on February 21, 2014. Allegheny Smokeworks hosted an informal reception after his memorial service. Bernie was a fixture in the shop, and he spent the past 10 years living his passion as a tobacconist and owner of Allegheny Smokeworks. His legacy with the shop will continue in the hands of his partners in the business Michael Pirmez and John Mah. R.I.P. Bernie.

Plum Borough

Bernard Daniel Pavlick, 61, of Plum Borough, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014. He was the dearly beloved husband of Diane M. (Fairchok). He was a partner in Allegheny Smokeworks in Blawnox. He loved Porsches, Corvettes, Formula One Racing, good cigars, bourbon and beer. He loved his wife more than anything and his dog, Carlos. He will be sadly missed by his wife, family and his many good friends.

FIRST CIGAR EVENT OF 2014
On Thursday, March 20, John Demharter will be in the shop from 4PM-8PM featuring the San Lotano line of cigars by A.J. Fernandez.   There will be specials in the shop on these cigars.

This is also the “first” day of the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament, so the games will be on in the lounge. Come on out and watch some hoops and check out the specials with John Demharter!

NEW FACE AT THE SHOP
Welcome, Christian Stavrakis!! Formerly known to locals as the cheerful head cashier at Barnes & Noble in the Waterworks Mall, we have added Christian to our full-time staff, as he has been at Allegheny Smokeworks on a part-time basis for the past 6 months. Christian is something of a Renaissance Man, mainly because he has worked at various Renaissance Festivals across the country (including Pittsburgh), and his diverse interests beyond cigars and pipes extend also to filmmaking (he’s the proud co-creator of the shockumentary film Mortal Remains), sculpting, graphic design and interpretive dance (just kidding). Semi-fluent in at least one language, he is known by many as the Medieval Geek…I mean, Medieval Greek. So stop in and say hello, ciao, bonjour, or how yinz doin’!!
