Weekly Email – Sept. 17th, 2014

Thanks to you, our annual event was a total success! Lots of food, drinks, and cigars aplenty. Sam Leccia was on hand demonstrating his formidable cigar-rolling talents, and there were heaps of delicious sandwiches provided by our friend Andy of Have Smoke, Will Travel. The latest offering from our old friend Erik Espinosa‘s legendary La Zona factoryis this masterful creation: Laranja, named after the Portuguese word for “orange” and a reference to its wrapper, an orange-hued Brazilian habano called (surprise!) Laranja. What a treat they are, too, with a peppery start which mellows out within the first inch or so to a smooth, cedary flavor with notes of cinnamon, citrus, and a subtle tinge of sweetness. A damned good cigar, worthy of a second visit…and a third…and…We’ve got all three available sizes in stock: Corona Gorda (5 5/8″ x 46), Robusto Extra (5 1/2″ x 54), and Toro (6″ x 52). Come get your Laranja on!

Remember the B.G. Meyer Standard Issue, that hearty new release developed by screenwriter (and Camacho brand ambassador) Rob Weiss that we introduced a few months ago? Well, their little cousin has arrived! Meet theSlacker, a fine little smoke (one size only, 4″ x 48) comprised of Dominican binder and fillers within an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. A really enjoyable, mild smoke reminiscent of a RoMa Craft Intemperance (the EC wrapper surely has something to do with this), but with the distinctive flavor of Dominican tobacco, these diminutive cigars go extremely well with a morning cuppa. (Your humble webmaster can attest to this.) Add a diminutive price point and you’ve got a winner! Treat yourself to one the next time you’re in!

What is this new craze sweeping the nation? It’s called vaping, a revolutionary method of puffing a safe, organic oil vapor (in a variety of flavors, some containing nicotine, some not) for enjoyment. And we do indeed carry a selection of vaping gear and e-juice from such manufacturers as eGo, Kanger, andKingdom Vapor (a local company based in Clarion, PA). We also carry some disposable and/or refillable units such as the EZ-Cig and Hookah Brand vapes. Curious?
