The popular Flathead line by CAO was expanded recently to include two new motorcycle-themed sizes. These new creations – dubbed the Steel Horse series – feature the same distinctive flat cap, but there the similarities end. The Steel Horse’s wrapper is Connecticut Habano Grueso (a proprietary leaf; gruesomeans “thick”); the binder is rich Brazilian Arapiraca; and the fillers are a bold three-country blend. Also, unlike the original line, these cigars are parejo (or cylindrical) rather than box-pressed. The flavor profile is an earthy/cedar (to be expected from habano), but with tantalizing elements of vanilla, cocoa, and cream. An excellent cigar for a cool Spring night!
